JSC "Carbohim" (Syava, Nizhny Novgorod Region)
The construction of an enterprise in Syava started in 1932 and on May 5, 1937 the plant was launched. For the first year of its work the plant produced 1600 tons of charcoal, 175 tons of acetic acid, 85 tons of alcohols and solvents. By 1949 a railway branch line, connecting Syava with Gorkovskaya railway, was built. From 1966 to 1977 a great deal of work was done for equipment modernization and perfection of technological processes in all workshops of the plant. That allowed to increase project capacity by 50%.
Today "Carbohim" is one of the leading enterprises, producing a wide assortment of chemical production and sorbents. The enterprise is specialized in producing ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, isobutyl acetate and solvents on their basis. Thanks to using unique technologies, "Carbohim" produces ethyl acetate of special urethane grade, which is in demand in both domestic and overseas markets. High quality characteristics were repeatedly acknowledged by respective expert organizations such as Saybolt and SGS.
One more direction of our enterprise is producing charcoal and products on its basis: active carbons BAU, OU and DAK, charcoal carburizer. Today, instead of out-of-date technology getting charcoal in car horizontal retorts, continuous vertical retorts was built. In future it is planned to continue reconstruction and provide increase of a production assortment.
Now "Carbohim" annual capacity is about 30 000 mt acetates and 2500 mt charcoal.
JSC "Molomsky Timber-Chemical Plant" (Zarya, Kirov Region)
The decision of construction a timber-chemical plant in Moloma (Kirov region) was taken by USSR Soviet of Ministers in 1954. In 1960 "Giprokhim" institute developed a project and in 1972 the first turn of retort workshop was launched. Today Molomsky Timber-Chemical Plant includes chemical, transport and shortening workshops with 450 persons. The appearing of a new shareholder and reconstruction, carried out in 2001 allowed to increase project capacity in charcoal to 14 000 mt per year, in acetate to 18 000 mt per year. Sales in 2005-2006 increased by 500% in comparison with 1999-2000.
Now JSC "Molomsky Timber-Chemical Plant" is one of main producers of packed charcoal in Russia. Moloma charcoal is distributed in most of main cities such as Moscow, S.-Petersburg, Perm, Ekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Nizhny Novgorod and others. Also it is exported to Western Europe.
Nature friendly, high quality birch charcoal, packed in paperbags of 3, 5 or 10 kg is excellent for cooking, grill & barbeque.
The development of the enterprise is going on. Recently new Finnish wood-working complex was installed and now it is planned to master a new technologies of producing charcoal briquets and butyl acetate. We also introduce energy-saving technologies - the installment of a new vapour-heater aggregate 2 reduce fuel charges.
